Middle Child Syndrome

Or should I refer it to the kid who cries alot. He wants attention, I get it but he cries for everything. He cries when his food spills over (twice today with strawberry oatmeal and cap'n crunch cereal). He cries because his sister is putting on diapers that resemble his baby brothers. He cries because he wants a nap but not now. He cries because well mostly because he wants attention on himself. My favorite reason as to which he cries which is unanimous in my household is because he has no reason. Of course he has a reason but because he does not have the words for it yet he cannot tell you.

Patience and kids

This is a great quote that I found on someone's facebook post the other day and thought I should share it with you all:

"O you who believe! let not your wealth, or your children, divert you from the remembrance of Allah; and whoever does that, these are the losers. (63:9)"

Patience!

Kids either teach you to be patient or they teach you how to be a superior force in their lives who dictates everything they need to do because you're big and they are small.

My second child is having me tested every day when it comes to his naps. He refuses to sleep by himself. He needs and wants to be carried around until he falls asleep. This drives everyone in the household crazy. So crazy that everyone loses their temper and has a harder time being patience. Allah can only help me now!

The best season of all...

Its autumn and the leaves are changing. If you think of the seasons as life then: Spring is the beginning while Autumn is slowly moving into death. Winter is death. Why am I being so morbid? Actually I'm not. I just view as autumn being really beautiful with all the color changing leaves, hot pumpkin pie and the turkey that will be coming up in another month or so.

Autumn is my fave season of all time.

What do you like about this season? What are you excited for right now?

Parenting

It is nearing 11:30 pm and I should go to sleep early. My middle child does not sleep without me and is still awake. The funny thing will be that he will go to sleep really late and still be up and energized at 8 am when all I want to do is sleep in.

The irony of it all.

They say (other parents is what I'm guessing) is that the first 5 years of childhood is the hardest and if you can get over that, the rest will be a breeze. So that means I have until 2014 for my life to get easier.

I will hang in there. (only because I have to and have no choice.

Kids are so darn cute!

Stress is a wonderful word. If you know how to handle it, it won't leave you on the floor catching for your breath or clutching at your chest for your heart to beat. With 3 kids and 3 men in the house all falls on this shoulder to do as much as possible while trying to squeeze in me time. Never possible.

What am I stressed about now?

  • Life in general.
  • Moving.
  • Child number 2 not potty trained.
  • Child number 3's constant crying and needing me. He is not breastfed at all. He was before Ramadan and fasting but after that it was hopeless.
  • Child number 1 needs attention too but her tantrums and outburst leave me no patience.
  • All my kids have anger management problems. Child 1 wants his bottle now, whether its 1 am, 3 am or 7 am. It has to be ready and hot when he's hungry.
  • Child 2 wants love and attention the same way Child 1 is getting it. He does not get that Child 3 is still a baby that needs things done for him. Child 1 because she's the oldest wants things done her way, always. When she wants to put Child 2 to bed and he refuses she slaps and beats him until he complies and does as he's told.

Allah tests us two ways with children and money.

Ms. Moody

My mood for the day was overwhelmed because

  • my kids cry
  • my kids fight
  • they cry because they fight
  • then I yell, they cry some more
  • and we repeat the cycle all over again

Then the sweetest thing to end a day was my sister came over for no reason, had ice cream with me and watched my fave show with her, Biggest Loser.

Night!

six word saturday

All work. No play. Dull day.

Fall is here. Let's all cheer.

Three kids in bed. Peace. Quiet.

Friday Frenzy

Today was a day full of running around and screaming kids. My daughter woke up with an attitude (what else is new!) and it lasted all day long. I love when the kids wake up in a cheery mood. So the day pretty much went like this:

10 am-Me and kids are up
10:30 am-Contractor calls and wants to talk to hubby. Hubby got home at 5:30 and is sleeping. Contractor says he can see the house now.
10:35-Hubby jumps out of bed. showers. eats and leaves.
11:30-appt with contractor.
1:00-hubby comes home. picks up brothers and goes to Masjid with brothers.
3:30-the men are home and hungry. Get all food and plates and water on table.
4:00-All leave for work.

What you do not see in between the time slots is the endless running around with a chicken's head cut off mom who is trying to cook, bathe and clean the house while having two kids who are constantly crying. The baby is hungry, tired, wet all at the same time. The middle child is wanting some attention and all the toys his sister has. The daughter wants some time to herself. I put both older kids outside in the rain (on the porch of course) and they are calm. Its cold and hubby is like they will sick. I'm like, "look how happy and calm and QUIET they are." He only lasts 5 mins with kids before yanking them in. Party pooper.

To end the day with Ice Cream (Snickers), pizza and curly fries is the best. :-)

G'night all!

Things I Want Thursdays!

Things I want Thursday was inspired by are you sassified who got it from Scope.

So What do I want are the following.

WORLD PEACE. Really, how much longer are we going to keep fighting wars because of land, religion differences, power, and oil. Get over it and just divvy it up equally.

BRAS. Nothing better that great, brand new bras. (Maybe some new undies, but I already got those.)

POTTY TRAINED KIDS. I would so love this right about now before we move into our new house. My son isn't even close.

DAY TIME SHIFT JOB. My hubby works the night shift so he sleeps during the day. My question to you is, when do you think we actually talk (especially since his work place banned cell phones.)?

PEACE OF MIND. This is one thing I could use right about now. My mind is forever racing and think of the worst case scenarios and death lately. When you do not feel safe to walk from your car to your house, you know you have some serious issues.

BAKERELLA. I want to be able to bake and decorate as good as this chick. This girl is awesome. Just check out her site. You'll know what I mean.

TRANSPARENT GOVT. I know this is not a good thing but it is when it comes to the Palestinian-Israel conflict.

Now anyone who reads this, tell me what do you most want right now?

heart hurts

I'm sitting at my computer and all I here is a swooooooooooshing sound. I know all the windows are closed and my kids do not have any drinks in thier hands. I look and look only to find the source is a puddle at my daughter's feet. She peed on herself and is still in the exact spot of piss for the past 7 minutes. I may be mean but she will learn her lesson not to do that again!
