spring fever!
I am so bored at home. I have spring fever where I just want to be outside all day long but unfortunately I have a cold and my kids have been sick for 3 going on 4 weeks. I really want them to recover before running out the house. My brain is feeling fuzzy and I feel my brain cells are depleting. I do not know why. I need an inspiration or project to keep me occupied. One of my fb friends online is suggesting taking an online class. I'm looking now for free online courses but they are rare. My kids distract me and that lasts until they frustrate me again. I feel like my life is just passing me by and I am getting nothing done. I am waiting for this baby to arrive and still have 3 months. The housework piles up but I am not motivated to do any of it. Probably tomorrow.

I'm ready for my close up...;-)
One of my fave bloggers D posted some interview questions for me and here are the responses
1. What's your favorite and least favorite thing about being pregnant?
Let me start with what I do not find pleasing while pregnant:
1. getting up in the middle of the night to pee. When you break your sleep its crazy. I have toddlers who request milk in bottles at night too so every night I usually get up 2-3 times. Its crazy and breaks the sleep cycle where in the morning you do not feel rested but groggy.
2. Getting heartburn. I do not know how to control it. I either eat not enough or too much. I'm slowly getting used to. The really funny thing my doc told was to limit my fruit intake because that makes you hungry more.
3. And near the end, you can not roll around and get comfortable to sleep. I'm a girl who likes to sleep on her belly.
2. If you could replay any moment in your life, what would it be?
High school graduation. I counted down days for that special day. I did not realize that I was growing up and leaving a world of safety and comfort into a world of unknowns and more responsibility.
3. Do you have any weird habits? What?
I bite my lips if they are dry and I have nothing on them. I purposefully do not use anything so I can bite them.
4. What is one piece of advice that was one of the best you’ve ever received?
Listen to your parents (especially when it came to marriage) because without their input I would not be married to the man of my dreams (literally, I seen him in my dreams before I got married. He was always happy to see me.) This advice was given to me by my aunt who lives in New York now.
5. Have you ever been in the newspaper/on TV? Why?
I was in the newspaper and TV in the same year for different reasons. I did not catch myself on TV but two people seen me in the crowd at an high school event. I was in NHS (National Honors Society) in high school and was quoted for the school newspaper (not in the picture but I was quoted. It was in the Detroit Free Press High School Edition).

An Honor

Last night I was online for a couple minutes past midnight, only to discover I won "the Cute's Blog Award". While I have won many things in life, this is one by far one of the best. The award was given my wonderful sisters at Symphonic Discord
Now it is my turn to name out some more wonderful blogs that I enjoy in my spare time. And the Cute Blog's Award goes to:

The Tyra Show
So, right now on the Tyra Show, she has a girl who is like 15 or so and wants to get married to an 18 yr old BOY (becuase as we all know men take a longer time to mature than some house plants).
Tyra: So where did you meet him?
Girl: At camp, he was my camp counselor and was 16 at the time.
Tyra: How old were you?
Girl: 12. He was my sister's bf.
Tyra: Why do you want to marry him?
Girl: I love him and want to be with him forever.
Tyra: Now, I'm gonna ask you an adult question. Do you have sex with him (because they sleep in the same bed at home and her mom knows about it)?
Girl: Yes, twice a day.
Tyra: Are you using protection?
Girl: No. I want to have a baby. (Yeah having a baby is just soooooooooo freaking easy-my comment, not hers). I've been trying for one year and am on fertility drugs.
Tyra: When did you lose your virginity?
Girl: When I was 13.
Anyways so you get the gist of the conversation these two are having and after question Tyra is like shocked at the girl's response. My question is with sex being every where, whether is the news, soap operas, tv, magazines, billboards (GG's OMG! poster campaign), a person is bombarded and told to do it but those who are on tv are like "no, you shouldn't have sex so young!" So, when a teen does finally do it, then she/he has to think about if they get pregnant are they going to keep the baby or not. Will there be an abortion? Will I have to drop out of school?
The best option is just to say no and stay away from the opposite sex. Period! Find an extracurricular activity. Go out with friends as a group and never be alone with the opposite sex because as we know the third one there is the Shaitaan and boy does he whisper some evil thoughts.
The best part about this show is that when different Muslim countries try to create laws that allow underage marriages, it is for this reason, so that children are not born out of wedlock. So the westerners idea is have sex. The eastern idea is marry young. What is the actual solution to all of this? Allah knows.
NOTE: My brain is scattered today so sorry if none of this makes any sense.

I'm not being paranoid!
I'm really not! I think my phone line is tapped. Whenever I talk to my Palestinian friend, I always here a clicking sound like someone is putting down the phone. We sometimes talk about Israel and terror and stuff. Its not illegal to talk about this stuff on the phone. I thought this was a country with freedom of speech so why am I not allowed to talk to her about whats in my head. Why should government get to control my tongue too?

thanksgiving

Most of us (not me) but many non-muslims wait until Thanksgiving to think and say what they are grateful for. I was thinking about what to be thankful for and here it is....
*I'm thankful for a wonderful (but crazy, sometimes psychotic) husband that I love dearly and never trade for anything in the world.
*I'm thankful for my huge family of siblings, aunts and uncles who make life what it is.
*I'm thankful for my warm (bird house mansion) that I can run to when things get crazy at home.
*I'm thankful for wonderful parents who've always supported me and after 26 years of my life know for a fact that I made them proud.
*I'm thankful for funny, goofy bro-in-laws who crack me up all day long without even thinking about it.
*I'm thankful to Allah for all of this because without Him I would have nothing and be nothing.
*I'm thankful for living in a country where girls can get an education and be smart and it be a good thing.
*I'm thankful for two adorable kids who wake me up with kisses and request for food when I rather sleep in past 8 am.
