when i was younger and my dad said no tv or homeschool, we would scream no but now that I'm older and wiser, I'm thinking along the same lines. we do not have a tv and my husband and i agreed to get one. after the tvs went digital, that was the end.
when i was younger, that's how me and my siblings spent the day home, right after school. from when school let out at 3:30 or so til 9 or 10 pm if there was a game on that night. never beyond 10. lots of time wasted. i really regret watching so much tv. now i try to do things educational with the kids here and there. more learning and interaction. even if it is just playing outside and soaking up the sun for a few minutes at the park.
now for homeschooling, i talk back and forth with a friend of mine. she is going to homeschool her kids for now. i don't know if they will ever go to school or if she is preferring to do it all herself. with homeschool i have my doubts. how will they learn to socialize? will it be easy and fun or will i cave in and just send them to school to have a few hours to myself? i have been counting down the time since birth to when they turn five and i can send them to school. that's how my dad is keeping me motivated. he always tells me that "the kids will be in school soon and you'll be even more busier."
