spring fever!

I am so bored at home. I have spring fever where I just want to be outside all day long but unfortunately I have a cold and my kids have been sick for 3 going on 4 weeks. I really want them to recover before running out the house. My brain is feeling fuzzy and I feel my brain cells are depleting. I do not know why. I need an inspiration or project to keep me occupied. One of my fb friends online is suggesting taking an online class. I'm looking now for free online courses but they are rare. My kids distract me and that lasts until they frustrate me again. I feel like my life is just passing me by and I am getting nothing done. I am waiting for this baby to arrive and still have 3 months. The housework piles up but I am not motivated to do any of it. Probably tomorrow.

I have been overcome by the Snot Monster the last 3 weeks. I get sick, it goes away; I get sick, it goes away. Just wish Spring would get here and stay!

Oh I hope it gets easier with time. Spring fever hit me pretty hard today. I even played soccer today.

InshaAllah you and the kids will get well soon. One tip for getting rid of a cold/flu/sore throat is to cut up some fresh ginger, pour water in a pot and put on the stove, put the ginger in the water and bring it slowly to the boil. The colour of the water should change and be similar to that of honey.

When it is boiled, carefully pour the water in drinking cups and add honey and a squeeze of lemon/lime whichever you prefer. Drink twice a day esp. before bedtime. Always drink it hot and slightly warm for the kids, when it's cold it doesn't taste so good. And inshaAllah that should do the trick.

I've been using that method for a few years now and the doc appointment and medicines (except painkillers) are no longer necessary.

Ginger is a natural antibiotic and clears up the mucus, helps with muscle aches and pains, the honey soothes the throat and the lemon gives it a pleasant taste. It also warms you up!
