Preemies in the month of November

I am writing this article today because November is Preemie Awareness month and its also partly for the Bloggers Unite Organization. Raising awareness by blogging about one topic but everyone does it to make a huge impact.

Preemie babies run in my family. I had first hand experience with a premature child. She was born at 31 weeks due to a placenta abruption. The mother had to be wheeled into the operating room without her husband. He had no clue that his daughter was about to enter the world a little earlier than expected. The baby was born the day after Eid. The mother was going to school (3 classes a week) and working as a para pro in a charter school every week full time(37 hours). It was time consuming. The mother also twisted her ankle during that pregnancy and had to use crutches. You try hopping on crutches up the stairs with a bowling ball taped around your belly. It's not so easy.

That mother is me and the baby girl was my daughter. Alhamdulillah we are both doing great. Actually I'm missing my girl lots today because she is out with my mom. I didn't even get to talk to them both today. Heart aches for them.

MoDBev-anything to help with teaching people about premature births. it was my pleasure.

CA-yeah I didnt either. I would've thought March was the month since thats when March of Dimes happens.

Chuckle-the main reason for her heart rate going down was the placenta abruption.
