the world missing an actor

Today "Leslie Nielsen died at the age of 84 from complications from pneumonia".  The first time I seen Leslie Nielsen on the screen was also my first time in a movie theater.  I went to see "Naked Gun" with my cousins and uncle.  My cousins were complaining to my uncle who drove us, "why you taking her, she wont understand it?"  I was young and didn't understand the movie one bit.  I haven't watched it these years later to see if i get it or not either

After that most of the time whenever I want to see a movie I will catch it on TV but never in the theater.  My parents were super strict about us going to the theater to see a movie.

Leslie Nielsen is someone I confuse with Steve Martin.

Time's up!

People seem to enjoy and like having the easy way out.

Don't like your hubby, get a new one.
Don't like your clothes, buy new.
Don't like your car or house, lease or rent forever.
Don't like your life, end it.
Don't like kids screaming, hit them.
Don't like your boss, have the last word.
Don't like abortion doctors, silence them.
Don't like someone of a different faith, invent propaganda and murder them.

And the list goes on and on.

We are so prone to giving up instead of fighting it out. We are losing our patience as well as our minds. We are gaining weight and losing our health. Everything is falling to pieces but how do we put it back together before its too late. Is it too late?

This past weekend, two people in Hollywood committed suicide. 41 year old Andrew Koenig and and 18 year old Michael Blosil. Andrew Koenig was from the 1980s show Growing Pains. Was missing since Valentine's Day only to be found hung from a tree 13 days later on February 27, 2010. He was suffering from depression. Michael Blosil, same suffering from depression left a note for his roommate and friend jumped off his apartment complex building.

Births and Deaths

Latest news:

My fellow blogger Softly Spoken has a new addition to her family. (not her but someone else in the family). New baby boy.

My aunt, Z's mom, lost her dad today on Rabiul Awwal 12. Either last week or the week before she lost her unlce, dad's brother. Her dad has been bed ridden for about 6 years now.

My middle child has been losing his temper a lot lately. He hits his sister constantly making me lose my patience. I do not know why. Out of nowhere he'll just hit her. She used to do that to him when he was younger. What goes around comes around?

It seems more and more people are becoming hopeless these days. They make death look like a picnic or something. As if life is trivial, you die and that is the end of it. Being a Muslim, we know that there is life after death. For all the deeds you did while on earth, you will be paid in full after death.

Loss of a tiny one

I just checked out the facebook status of an in-laws (my brother's, not mine). She says this: ZR loves SAM and TSM and just know some unwanted events in life are a blessing in disguise. We are here to love and support you, always.

SAM's cousin said this: To SAM n T2 for ur loss: No farewell words were spoken, No time to say good-bye. You were gone before we knew it, And only God knows why. Our hearts still ache in sadness And secret tears still flow, What it meant to lose you, No one will ever know. When we are sad and lonely, And everything goes wrong, We seem... to hear you whisper "Cheer up and carry on."

SAM was pregnant and lost her baby. Inshallah she will get through this.

Allah says (interpretation of the meanings):

“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As- Saabiroon (the patient).

“Only those who are patient shall receive their reward in full, without reckoning”

Suicide in Islam

Births of this year so far are:
Liyan (Romena C.)

Deaths:
Mohammed Fazal Chowdhury died in jail after hearing that he will get 30 years for the death of his wife, S.Miah. Their son is now an orphan in less than a year. No one is talking or mentioning his death but by hiding it is doing no good either. I wanted to say something in my status on facebook but the words are not coming out. His wife was murdered and he died by suicide. These words are very powerful. SUICIDE. HOMICIDE. MURDER. This past week, I have been having trouble sleeping. It got so bad that I felt knots in the back of my head every time my head hit the pillow. I felt out of control. I felt as if somethign was coming after me and there was no way to stop it. Weird as this is to say, I thought about S.Miah this week and upon hearing about her husband's death, the pain and worrying went away.

I told my mom this and she said that I worry too mcuh and its as if I'm waiting for this stuff to happen. Before anyone dies I have this feeling as if something big is about to happen. The feeling does not go away. This past week was the worst.

When a Muslim hears that someone has passed away, he recites: To Allah we belong, to him we return. By stating this we are admitting that the person always belonged to Allah. That they returned to their creator. This life is temporary. My father always tells us this and lets us know. Many believe they are immortal through their actions and deeds, as if they will on forever.

What is our purpose in life? Why were we created? In the Quran it states: "And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)". (Surah Adh-Dhariyat Verse 56)

To a Muslim, life is like a stop. Just as you when you go on a long journey you have stops along the way, so too is this life. Our final resting abode is the Hereafter, where depending on our actions and deeds we will find comfort or pain.

Allah states about suicide in the Quran as such:

"And do not kill yourselves. Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you".
(Surah An-Nisa Verse 29)
In another verse of the Quraan, Allah says: "And do not throw yourselves in destruction". (Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 195)

death notice

Innalilahi wainailahi rajeoon (To Allah we belong, to Allah we return). Suraiah Miah passed away on September 28, 2009 at 1 a.m.

Right now my mind is reeling with so many things. The above quote being one of them. A friend passed away last night. The police have her husband in custody. His story is constantly changing. The couple had problems since the husband came here from overseas. I am not airing anyone's dirty laundry but simply speaking my mind. My hubby and his brothers left to work a few minutes ago and I cannot be on the phone all day simply because I do not want to think about death. What happens after we die is a scary story. I was thinking that it really is true that how you live your life is how death will meet you. This girl was a sweet girl but never quiet. She will be missed as a mother, friend, daughter and sister. She seems to be everywhere and is another reminder to me and everyone else that life is short and we must do as many good deeds as possible.

thank you.
