I'm a pretty big chess player. I remember that when I was growing up and I would see these TV shows and movies where these old men would sit around city squares and just play chess against each other. Well, I haven't become one of those men, but I do like to play chess against my sons every now and then. We started playing again a while back and while I was playing a game I realized how beat up our old chess set is that we use. So I decided to go ahead and get a new one.
I went online to see if I could find some really good chess sets that are different than the same one. While I was online shopping for them, I ran across some info on this internet company and after I read some More info, I decided to change over our home internet service to the provider.
I did find this one chess set that is made out of pieces of recycled materials. I think that might be neat to have and be a great, green addition to our home.
Sahm I am..
I do not like little messes here or there. I do not like little messses anywhere.

For all your printing needs
One thing a person with a computer will always need is computer ink. When you have three kids under the age of 5 you will need tons of ink. Inkgrabber.com is a site I recently found that offers great prices on all sorts Cheap Printer Ink, Inkjet Cartridges, Toner Cartridges, Fax Cartridges, Copier Toner, and Refill Kits.
Having a Dell Printer I normally use Dell printer ink and Dell ink cartridges for my printing needs. One special thing about this site that I noticed is that the business and schools in mind who need ink fast, say the next day fast and will ship out the inks right away. When you open a corporate account you get benefits such as:
- Net 30 Credit Terms
- Personal Account Representative
- Free Next Day Delivery on all Genuine Supplies
- InkPoints earned with every purchase.
- Rush Processing for quick delivery
to name just a few.
Who knew there was so many choices found on this site for all your printing needs, whether it be Dell ink or Kodak ink, this site has it all.

Times A' Changin
Guest post written by Kendra Tierney
For the long weekend, I went to Alabama to see my family. I've been putting in so many hours at work that I haven't gotten to see them in months. It's been sad, so I am definitely happy about the fact that I finally got the chance to see everyone. I think I definitely got some quality time in, even though it was only a short visit. A long weekend is as good as an option as I can hope for as an adult. I miss the days when I was in college. I had a lot of long breaks that allowed me to go home. However, I suppose most people don't have those options after they are college aged...yeah, it's life!
In any case, I think my visit to Alabama went very well. We made dinner together, watched a few classic movies and just spent time catching up. I also ran a few errands for my mother, as well. I helped her shop, and I also I helped her find a place that sells Miracle Ear Hearing Aids. Now that I am back in Alabama, I find myself looking forward to next time I get to go and visit my parents!

Chocolate Lovers Soul
Valentine's Day is long over and so is the month of February. Some imagery that comes to mind when thinking of Valentine's Day are cards, candies, and flowers. Those who are in long term relationships never liked Valentine's Day for its Hallmark appeal. If you want to say that you loved your significant other, you do not wait for a holiday to roll around before making those feelings noticed and on display.
One site that I came across a couple weeks back that features so many assortments of chocolate possible was sees.com. This site chocolates for the chocolate lovers soul. Dark chocolate to milk chocolate to sugar free, to name just a few. The pricing is not so bad with chocolate selling for under $10 for cheapskates like me who want a piece but not spend a fortune to those who can afford better for a better price, over 50 dollars. The more you buy, the better the discount especially if you're buying as a group.
So check out sees.com for that craving that calling you.

the car connection
My husband and I have been searching for a minivan for a while now. Anywhere from auto trader to craigslist. We have been searching non stop for a couple of weeks now since we sold our two cars, a 1997 Honda Odyssey and a 1999 Honda Odyssey.
What can I say, my guy loves Foreign cars. He will never buy American even if the price tag and mileage look good. For me to drive a good car means the world. I never cared much what country it came from whether its local or international. I'm more of a girl like that. I want to get from point A to point B and will use any type of car to get there.
One site that I came across that helps me find reviews about cars and what others are thinking is carconnection.com.
This site has information about cars such as Saab 9-5 Premium, lexus, Lexus Hs 250, Lexus Rx450H. The reviews include photos, reviews from experts and users and usually are about the latest types of cars filed by years.
On my search for the best car for the best buck, I will be doing more research and searching and hopefully will have another car to drive around in the next week or so.

A Cheap Seat
Who has the time and energy to keep calling radio stations day after day trying to get tickets to a soldout concert? Or what about the ridiculous prices for an even like the Super Bowl?Well at acheapseat.com has the solution for you. It has tickets that are usually not sold to the public.
The tickets are categorized as concert, theater, and sports tickets. Once you select a ticket of your choice, you get matched with more popular categories to show other interests you might not have thought of. Reading the fine print you find out that the tickets are obtained through the secondary market and are being resold, so all ticket sales are final. NO REFUND.
The venue guide lets you know how many events are being held in your area so that takes all the guess work out if you want to attend something or not or whether an even is in your area or not. For die hard hockey fans, they can check out whether their favorite teams will be battling it out for the Stanley Cup.
Whether you're getting New York Islanders Tickets or New York Rangers Tickets
or Philadelphia Flyers Tickets or Pittsburgh Penguins Tickets or Toronto Maple Leafs Tickets (and the list can go on), know that with each purchase, you will definitely be having a good time watching your favorite sport or event live.

activity tree
With the nation's obesity rate rising daily the need for kids to get up and be active is an important tool against fighting obesity. When you sign up, there are two categories to choose from: if you want to search for activities for the kids or if you want to provide activities for the kids. I chose search.
Afterwards, you put in all the information about your kids and they match up activities by price and distance.
ActivityTree.com is committed to fighting childhood obesity and promoting kid’s active bodies and minds by providing the nation’s largest online parent resource for kid’s lessons, classes and camps.
ActivityTree.com is the nation’s largest online parent resource for kid’s lessons, classes and camps. Parents can search nearly 80 activity types by zip code to find activity providers in their area. It features contact information, web site links, interactive maps and activity descriptions for over 18,000 providers.
Our Get Kids Active! Facebook Campaign helps parents get their kids active through social networking. Fans of ActivityTree can find and share activity ideas on our wall, pass the “Get Kids Active!” sticky note to their friends, and take fun and informative activity-related polls.

New Year's resolution to spend more time with the kids
Guest post written by Lewis Martin
As you get further into your life, it seems to only pick up speed with no sign of slowing down. It seems like both of my kids were born just yesterday and now they're both in high school. I want to spend as much time with them as possible before they both head off to college and get busier with their own lives, so I made a 2011 New Year's resolution to spend more time with them now.
I want to plan a really fun trip for all of us to go on while the kids are out of school for spring break. So I went online to try and pick out a destination. While I was doing that I randomly found some wimax 4g deals that sounded really great, so I signed our household up for one of them for our internet service.
As part of parenting New Year's resolutions I want to pick a destination for our family trip that none of us have ever been to. I'm thinking about New Orleans because of all the cultural and historical stuff there

Silly Decorations Make The Season Bright
Guest written by our friend Gladys Fuentes
No matter how long I am on the earth, I will never stop loving the tacky, silly decorations of Christmas that make it one of the brightest moments of the year for me. Christmas comes at the end of the year and that's perfectly fine with me. It's like saving the best moments for last. As we decorate for Christmas, we always look for funny, silly decorations that give everyone the chance to laugh as well as respect Christmas.
You know the decorations I'm talking about. We have dancing Santas, dancing reindeer, Christmas fish, and any other kind of Christmas novelty we see on our Direct TV Satellite Packages. We also love the more tasteful, serious decorations that fill our home during the year, but without the silly ones, the serious ones wouldn't mean as much as they do.
When we're done decorating our home with the very best of silly decorations, we go to our living room to enjoy lots of high quality Christmas shows that make our season even brighter. Everything about Christmas is something that makes us happy, even if it's silly, and we are always thinking of new decorations we can add to our collection to give us the best of all possible worlds during the Christmas season.
Get a little silly this Christmas and find a few novelty decorations to brighten up the mood.

Stocking stuffing ideas
Guest post written by Lisa Fallow
I always wait until the very last minute to actually go out and buy stocking stuffers. That's the way that I've always done it and I think that you can get some really great stocking stuffers at the drugstore anyway, which is normally where I go and get them.
But I thought that maybe it would be a good idea for me to look for some stocking stuffer ideas online this year, so that I could get some ideas about stuffers I can get from the drugstore that I've never thought about before. While I was online about a week ago searching for those ideas, I came across the website clear-internet.com and browsed through it some. After that I decided to sign up for the internet service because our old one hadn't been doing too well for a while anyway.
Some stocking stuffers that I came up with by searching online were school supplies. My kids love to draw, so I went and bought them some cool pens to use. Also, I got some stationary for my daughter, who loves to write letters to her cousins who live a few states away.

the world missing an actor
Today "Leslie Nielsen died at the age of 84 from complications from pneumonia". The first time I seen Leslie Nielsen on the screen was also my first time in a movie theater. I went to see "Naked Gun" with my cousins and uncle. My cousins were complaining to my uncle who drove us, "why you taking her, she wont understand it?" I was young and didn't understand the movie one bit. I haven't watched it these years later to see if i get it or not either
After that most of the time whenever I want to see a movie I will catch it on TV but never in the theater. My parents were super strict about us going to the theater to see a movie.
Leslie Nielsen is someone I confuse with Steve Martin.

red lentils for dinner
What happens when a child is left unattended with a
pot of red lentils being soaked? He drops them
all on the floor only to be told he has
to pick them up individually
Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is among us. A day to remember all that you are blessed with and to give thanks. The beauty in Islam is to give thanks all day, every day. Allah Shukr.
This year I am thankful (grateful) for:
* another year to be alive watching my kids grow up because there are many moms and dads who are not able to see and enjoy this.
*my family and friends who all keep me sane.
*being able to find a strength within me that I did not know was possible.
*getting through a tough year with many ups and downs and learning from them.
*getting out with the kids more this year.
*my hubby and his brother going to school to get a better education and better career.
*my dad who is always showing me that its never too late to start learning something new, that learning is a lifelong process that will never end until you die. From the cradle to the grave, seek knowledge.
Some Quran verses dealing with gratitude:
Allaah parallels it with His mention. He Says (what means): “So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me”. [Quran 2: 152]
Allaah parallels it with belief. He Says (what means): “What would Allaah do with [i.e., gain from] your punishment if you are grateful and believe?...” [Quran 4: 147] Meaning, if you fulfil the rights due to Allaah and the reason for which He has created you by gratitude and belief, He will not punish you.
Allaah tests His slaves in order to see who will practice gratitude and who will not. Allaah informs us about what Prophet Sulaymaan said when He Says (what means): “…This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful – his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful – then indeed my Lord is Free of need and Generous.” [Quran 27: 40]
Allaah promises increased favors for those who are grateful. He Says (what means): “And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed My punishment is severe.'” [Quran 14: 7]

And time is not slowing down...
Life is all about the little details that go unnoticed. The little things that make life wonderful like a warm sunny day when the light comes into your bedroom to wake you up. Or that small available free time when you could pick up a book and read it from cover to cover. Or even going to the bathroom minus a crowd.
But if we actually took the time to look closer we might discover something new, strange and wonderful.
But if we actually took the time to look closer we might discover something new, strange and wonderful.
The more we look the more we will see the picture getting clearer and clearer by the second. We need to slow down in life, otherwise we won't know when and where the
time flew by to actually enjoy.

Married to Superman
working all night and coming home at 3:30 a.m. all you want to do is go to sleep but that's not happening.
its 4:13 a.m. and the baby is crying. over and over, he is crying. he does not want is bottle. he does not want to sleep. he wants something so out of his reach that walking around and shushing him is not helping. so what's a parent to do? the solution is 24 hour rite aid which is a mile away. they have what he needs. my husband goes out and gets it.
I have tried for two nights to make him stop using his paci but it did not work. today was eid and going to sleep at 1:40 am and getting up again at 3:40 am, you're mind starts playing tricks on you.

Peace. Love. Understanding.
we are all created equal. we all want the same things: peace, love and understanding in the world from one another. especially those who are different from us. but we fail to remember that we are not all that different from each other.
we have two eyes,
one nose,
two arms,
two legs,
one heart.
we all shed tears and blood.
we all feel pain though we cannot feel it physically from one another but we can see it physically with our eyes.
